Hand-Crafted Model Canoe for Use or Display

      Tired of plastic toys and models? Want to connect kids with something real? The Dugout Canoe Model is hand-crafted from all natural materials by Vince Pinto of Arizona. Vince was inspired by carpenter bees, which hollow out the flower stalks of the sotol plant (Dasylirion wheeleri). The split stalks look just like a dugout canoe, inspiring Vince to make his own all natural model canoes for use or display.
      Each canoe is a unique creation, made with sustainably wildcrafted materials, such as pine pitch, juniper wood, agave fiber rope, feathers, shells, buckskin, bones, etc. All are designed to convey a sense of reality and fun. Canoes can be floated in a stream, pond, or puddle, or an imaginary waterway, or placed upon a shelf for display. Please Note: Pigment paints may smear in water. CAUTION: DUGOUT CANOES INCLUDE SMALL PARTS, NOT SUITABLE FOR SMALL CHILDREN.
