About the Author
Janet Muirhead Hill is the author of the Starlight books, and founder, publisher, and editor- in-chief of Raven Publishing. Janet grew up on a cattle ranch in Colorado, where her father taught her love and respect for horses. There were always horses to ride and fields and pastures to explore. She learned to love books at a very young age as her older sister read to her. A favorite game as she grew up was to take turns with her older brother and sister to make up stories for each other. The stories nearly always involved horses.
As an adult, Hill has worked at many diverse occupations from oil field roustabout, custom haying and ranching to business management, nursing and childcare. Along the way she wrote and published a number of short stories in children's periodicals. Janet and husband Stan Hill are raising their teenage granddaughter in rural Montana with enough acreage for horses. Janet's love for children, family, and horses inspire much of her writing. A feature film is in the works, based on the Miranda and Starlight Series.
