Miranda and Starlight
Miranda Stevens is sent to live on her on her grandparents' farm while her mother tries to make a living in Los Angeles. On the farm Miranda makes three new friends--a girl in her class, a boy who is afraid of riding, and the most beautiful horse she has ever seen, Starlight. She rides the horse on a dare, and begins an adventure and a test of courage, friendships and loyalties.

Starlight's Courage
Miranda's adventure with Starlight, an injured two-year old stallion, have only begun and in the exciting sequel to Miranda and Starlight, both girl and horse are called upon to show great courage, loyalty, and endurance. Miranda and her friends Laurie and Christopher ride Christopher's horse Queen in fierce competition against their class mates, unaware that a mad man is out for revenge.

Starlight, Star Bright
This is the third book in the series about the mishaps and adventures of young Miranda Stevens and Starlight, the black stallion she loves and wants to some day own. Now at age eleven Miranda is ready to take on more responsibility and make better choices, but is not immune to getting into difficult and dangerous situations. This action-packed novel includes a pack trip into the Rocky Mountains, a fire, trouble at the races, and other breath-taking adventures.

Starlight's Shooting Star
Starlight's Shooting Star carries on the tradition of adventure and endearment found in the first three books. Now at age twelve Miranda and her friends learn new lessons from life's twists and turns.

About the Author
Janet Muirhead Hill is the author of the Starlight books, and founder, publisher, and editor- in-chief of Raven Publishing. Janet grew up on a cattle ranch in Colorado, where her father taught her love and respect for horses. There were always horses to ride and fields and pastures to explore. She learned to love books at a very young age as her older sister read to her. A favorite game as she grew up was to take turns with her older brother and sister to make up stories for each other. The stories nearly always involved horses.

As an adult, Hill has worked at many diverse occupations from oil field roustabout, custom haying and ranching to business management, nursing and childcare. Along the way she wrote and published a number of short stories in children's periodicals. Janet and husband Stan Hill are raising their teenage granddaughter in rural Montana with enough acreage for horses. Janet's love for children, family, and horses inspire much of her writing. A feature film is in the works, based on the Miranda and Starlight Series.
